Fighting Hunger with Food Distribution
Our primary objective is to ensure that people living on the streets and in marginalized communities have access to nutritious meals, clothes, and hygiene awareness.
-
32 km Food Drive in Chennai – reaching the city’s most vulnerable with freshly prepared meals.
-
10,00,000+ food packets donated during floods, cyclones, and natural calamities across Tamil Nadu.
-
During Covid-19 lockdowns, we distributed food packets, water bottles, biscuits, fruits, and energy drinks to keep thousands alive and nourished.
-
Alongside food, we provided face masks, fruit juices, and multivitamins to strengthen immunity among underprivileged communities.
Community Care & Support Beyond Food
Our mission extends beyond just feeding people — we focus on holistic community support:
-
👩⚕️ Supporting Patients & Attenders at Government Hospitals
We provide low-cost nutritious meals (Chapati, rice, dal) to patients and their caregivers, ensuring that hunger does not add to their suffering. -
🐶 Feeding Street Animals
From dogs and cows to crows and pigeons, we believe compassion includes all living beings. During Covid lockdown, our volunteers fed starving animals, and we continue this effort to reduce animal starvation in Avadi and Chennai. -
🧼 Hygiene Awareness
Along with food, we spread awareness on cleanliness, hygiene, and preventive healthcare, helping communities stay safe and healthy.

Namba Unavu Community Kitchen
To fight hunger with dignity, Retain Smilez launched the Namba Unavu – Community Kitchen, a compassionate initiative designed to serve nutritious, hygienic meals at highly subsidized prices.
Prepared under strict FSSAI safety guidelines, every meal is cooked with care to ensure quality and health.
This project is not just about feeding the underprivileged but about restoring hope and reducing financial stress for daily wagers, migrant workers, and marginalized families.
By making wholesome food affordable and accessible, Namba Unavu strengthens communities and ensures that no one is left hungry, regardless of their circumstances.
